Demi Urias

Demi Urias is a daily reminder that even amidst tragic and unthinkable circumstances, people can prevail and take action to make a difference. After losing her mother in a fatal drunk driving accident in 2008, this high school junior dedicated her life to reaching out to the community in an effort to prevent further alcohol-related losses from occurring. Demi joined Fighting Back Santa Maria Valley’s Youth Involvement Group and has dedicated over a hundred hours to telling her story at community-based events. She is a leader in several prevention programs aimed at educating young people on the consequences of underage drinking.
